The opening letter
Not everything that appears in the distance is water.
Online, everything can look urgent, profound, useful, or transformative. A thread promises the missing key. A course promises mastery. A tool promises speed. A model promises understanding. A community promises belonging. Even knowledge can become a mirage when it makes us move faster while leaving us thirstier.
The old Epistles called this the digital desert: a place full of signs, sellers, voices, and shimmering promises. The problem was never that the internet held no benefit. The problem was that the seeker needed discernment before drinking.
A mirage gives motion without restoration. An oasis gives enough clarity to continue.
